What Christ Rooted Is
Christ Rooted is a structured theological research, writing, and teaching project. It brings together formal studies, article series, discipline pages, and media that develop Divine Identity Theology through sustained engagement with Scripture.
Divine Identity Theology is a Scripture-first theological framework. Its doctrine of God is established from Scripture’s own divine categories, while biblical anthropology provides a foundational account of human emergence that bears directly on Christology, sin, salvation, new birth, indwelling, resurrection, and restoration.
The work is interconnected without requiring a single mandatory reading sequence. Individual studies are designed to remain meaningful on their own, while guided reading paths, discipline pages, and article series make it possible to follow larger arguments in greater depth.
The Theological Framework
Divine Identity Theology is the overarching framework developed through Christ Rooted. It seeks to follow Scripture’s own categories consistently across the doctrine of God, human identity, Christology, salvation, indwelling, resurrection, and restoration.
At the heart of its doctrine of God is Aspectival Monotheism: one eternal, uncreated Spirit-being and one divine personal “I,” with the intrinsic and inseparable aspects of Soul, Form, and Spirit. God’s personal living structure describes His permanent, outward-facing, concrete, ordered spiritual structure, while Form identifies that structure as manifested according to His will.
The aim is clarity rather than novelty. Traditional terminology is retained where it remains precise, and clarified where Scripture’s own distinctions require greater precision.
Method and Commitments
The project operates from a small number of methodological commitments:
• Scripture defines its own categories before theology systematizes them
• Distinct biblical categories should be distinguished before they are combined in theological synthesis
• Biblical anthropology provides a necessary foundation for Christology and soteriology
• Ontological claims and theological terms should be stated explicitly and examined carefully
The work therefore proceeds by establishing the biblical text in context, defining its categories carefully, and then tracing their implications across Scripture. The doctrine of God is drawn from Scripture’s own divine categories, while Genesis 2:7 provides the foundational pattern for understanding human emergence and its theological consequences.
Why This Project Exists
Many theological disagreements are intensified when foundational assumptions about human nature, divine identity, and theological language remain unexamined.
Foundational definitions matter because errors at the starting point can shape conclusions reached much later. Careful theology therefore requires attention not only to individual proof texts, but also to the categories and assumptions used to interpret them.
Christ Rooted exists to examine those foundations directly and to develop a coherent biblical account of divine identity, human emergence, Christ, sin, salvation, new birth, indwelling, resurrection, and restoration through scriptural categories and sustained argument.
How to Explore the Work
If you are new to Christ Rooted, the Start Here section provides the clearest introduction to the project and its central categories.
From there, you can follow discipline pages, article series, individual studies, and The Divine Identity Podcast according to the question you are exploring. Some studies build directly on earlier material and link back to the concepts they assume.
This structure reflects the conviction that theology is an integrated account of God, humanity, Christ, life, and salvation, while still allowing individual studies to be read and examined on their own.
Authorship
Christ Rooted is written and developed by Igor Pogoda and serves as the publishing home of Divine Identity Theology and The Divine Identity Podcast. The project represents a sustained public effort to think carefully and faithfully about the biblical text and its theological implications.
The emphasis throughout is accountability to Scripture and clarity of reasoning. More about the author, theological formation, and personal story can be found on the Meet the Author page, including Credentials and My Story.
